Religious Education
Religious Education is a curriculum entitlement for all children and the school follows the Leeds ‘Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education’. Religious Education does not seek to urge religious beliefs on children or to compromise the integrity of their own beliefs by promoting one religion over another. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from Religious Education. Suitable alternative provision will be made.
Aims

Personal, Health, Social and Citizenship Education
A comprehensive scheme of work covers these very important aspects of the children’s education.
Topics covered include:
In addition, children take part in ‘Circle Time’ activities each week. Amongst other activities, they consider the school ‘Ethos Statement’ for that week.
The School Council is an important part of our work on Citizenship. Each class sends two representatives to the School Council to discuss matters of interest to the children. The children experience the electoral system through the School Council and learn how to represent their views and the views of others. Two children from each class also sit on a Health & Safety Committee and report any issues to the Head Teacher or school caretaker. All aspects of both groups are reported to the whole school via a special assembly.
