Headteacher's Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Crossley Street Primary School.  The formative years of a child's education are vital, as they provide the foundation for the future, so your choice of school is very important.

I hope you will find the information on this website a useful insight into our school.  Please also arrange a visit to find out more and to see us teaching and learning together during a normal working day.  We are always delighted to welcome visitors.

Crossley Street is a one form entry school where there is always a calm and purposeful atmosphere.  We are a popular choice where children's happiness is paramount, both children and staff enjoy working here.

If you value single age classes, an enviable academic reputation, opportunities to partake in sports and music, very good behavoiur and highly motivated children, extra curricular activities and very good social and personal care for children, then we may be what you are looking for.  We also have extremely supportive parents and governors who are actively engaged in the school at all levels.

We believe that learning should be fun, based on providing children with a firm foundation in the basics of English and Maths, where reading is seen as fundamental to the acquisition of knowledge.

Our children are taught to respect and care for all members of school and to show tolerance and understanding to others.  Independence and a sense of responsibility are valued and encouraged.  We believe in challenge and continual improvement.

We are proud of our historic building and extensive grounds.  We are fortunate to be enjoying a growing role at present with three age groups having a waiting list.
