Termly Curriculum Information

for my class

In English we will be working on:

• Information Texts - writing questions, finding answers.
• Fantasy Stories
• Poetry - about the seaside.
• Recount Writing.

In Mathematics we will concentrate on:

• 2D/3D shapes
• Money - find totals, change.
• 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, 10 less than a given number.
• Addition/subtraction
• Presenting information using pictures, block graphs and pictograms (linked with ICT)
• Solving problems.
• Reading and writing numerals recognising place value of each digit.

In Science we will be learning about:

• Materials and their properties.
• Light and dark.
• Growing plants.

In Art and/or Technology we will be:

• D & T   -  Designing and making our own playgrounds.
• Art      -   Investigating materials - weaving.
• D & T   -  Eat more fruit and vegetables - making our own soup, salads and smoothies.

 

In other subjects we will be learning about:

 

History/Geography - Seaside holidays.  Around our local area - Wetherby.

ICT  -  Making graphs showing information

RE  -  Beliefs and Practice

 

You can help me by:-

• Hearing me read and helping me do my homework.
• Sharing stories and information books.

 

Special days for my class are:-

P.E./Games  - Monday and Friday

Sharing Assembly - Tuesdays - just things children have made, drawn or written about.

Library time - Thursday

 

Other special days or events this half term are:-

Allotment visit (linked with Science - growing plants)

Church visit - to be arranged.

Summer visit - to be arranged.
