In English we will be learning about:

• Completing our information text topic
• Investigating stories set in imaginary worlds
• Big writing and VCOP

 

In Mathematics we will concentrate on:

• Times tables revision
• Addition, multiplication, subtraction, division
• Counting, partitioning and calculating in different ways
• Securing number facts and understanding shape (2D and 3D)
• Data handling and measures

In Science we will be learning about:

• Solids and liquids and how they can be separated
• Keeping warm (thermal insulators)

In other subjects we will be learning about:-

• Geography  - Great Britain and Ireland
• RE  -  Easter story and Buddhism
• PE  -  Gymnastics and swimming
• ICT  -  Branching data bases

In Art/and or Technology we will be:-

ART  -  Looking at Aboriginal art and recreating similar designs.

TECHNOLOGY  -  "Pop-up" mechanisms (making story books)

 

You can help me by:-

• Listening to your child read and helping them learn their spellings
• Signing your child's homework
• Helping your child remember their PE/swimming kit.

Special days for my class are:

• Wednesday  -  Swimming
• Thursday (this half term)  -  PE
• Monday (next half term)  -  PE
• Reading books are changed Tuesday and Friday

 

Other special days or events this half-term are:-

• Trip to West Yorkshire Playhouse - Friday 8th February
