The Willow Tree

We discussed what was happening to the willow tree on the school field. The willow tree was dying and had become very overgrown. The grounds men cut away the dead parts and replanted the bits still growing. School councillors decided that they should be replanted in the shape of a tunnel leading to a small igloo-style den. Gardening club and after school are going to be given the job of making sure it is kept watered

Henry Bellingham Visit

We discussed the visit which will take place on Friday 9th March. We wanted to make sure that Henry Bellingham found out about all the good things in our school. We listed all of the things we were really proud of. Here are some of the ideas we came up with:

  • We are a church school
  • Our sporting achievements
  • The opportunities we have to show all our different talents
  • Our fundraising efforts
  • The school grounds, including the willow tree and wildlife area
  • Displays of our work
  • After School Club
  • Breakfast club
  • Our Head teacher
  • How we all look after and care for each other

School councillors are going to talk to classes to see if they have anymore suggestions or any questions which they would like to ask Henry Bellingham when he visits.

NON UNIFORM DAYS

School Council have asked if, each week, the class with the highest attendance can be allowed to come to school in non-uniform for one day only.  I have agreed to their request.

Attendance at school is high, and I am delighted the children enjoy coming to school and want to be here.

Each Monday in assembly the classes with the highest attendance are announced and a class award is given.  From Monday , the class with the highest attendance will also be allowed to wear non uniform on the Tuesday, ifparents or carers agree.  This is not compulsory – and appropriate clothing and footwear should be worn.

Families will be notified by text on the Monday if their child is in the “winning” class.  A class photo will then also be displayed on the TV system for that week.

I do hope you will allow your child to join in the fun.
