Our Story St Mary’s and St John’s Church of England primary school has a history stretching back to 1707.
Many things have changed in the school life over this 300 year journey, but two things have remained true which we are proud of – the involvement of the two Hendon parish churches of St Mary’s and St John’s in the school life, and the goal of bringing excellence in teaching and learning to the children from the Hendon community and beyond.
St Mary’s and St John’s is an inclusive school, reflecting the people who have travelled from various backgrounds that now make up this community in north-west London.

Our Mission Our Mission is to prepare our children with the social, emotional, spiritual and physical skills to live and learn in today’s world, rooted in Christian values.
We want our children to become …
The pupil’s own version of ‘Our Mission’ reflects all of this… [This is going to be discussed at a forthcoming School Council meeting] |

Our Strategy We fulfil our mission by working together. We believe that everyone involved with the school – the head-teacher, the staff, pupils, parents, governors, parishes and helpers – has a full part to play.
By working together in partnership we work diligently, imaginatively and with energy to create a safe, happy, positive, and caring environment in which our children can learn, be challenged, and meet or exceed Our Mission for the children.

Our Journey ahead We want our children to be consistently moving forward - each day learning and practising something new that will help them in their life today and their life tomorrow.
Further, we want our children to be pleased with what they achieve both individually and together whilst at St Mary’s and St John’s - so that when they leave us they can look back with happiness and thankfulness to all who have made their time at this school so special.
